Lit Tease – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

IMG_3029I’ve been reading up a storm lately and I am completely digging the easy vibes of a good YA novel. There’s something about switching off and relaxing with the tale of a teenager caught in some kind of semi-predictable conundrum which takes you back to a simpler time. Simpler time = me reading my first ever boyfriend’s texts over and over again whilst lying in bed listening to Sexual Healing and thinking ‘my life is like, actual heaven.’ THOSE were the days.

To All The Boy I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Hann, is a novel that gave me that feel. The story is about Lara Jean Covey, a shy and thoughtful 16 year-old-girl who loves nothing more than chillin’ with her two sisters Margot and Kitty, baking cookies, knitting and scrapbooking.

She keeps it pretty low profile at school which she doesn’t altogether mind accept when she starts to feel a touch on the invisible side.

Covey is an introvert who lives a life of romance through books, movies and endless daydreams. She has earned a degree in pining over boys she’s convinced would never give her a second glance.  Her thesis is the love letters she pens to her crushes which she never plans on posting.

Shit gets real when she wakes up one morning to find the letters that were never intended to be sent have in fact, been sent. *cue hyperventilation* It’s a teen crisis of the highest order and the aftermath pushes her out of her comfort zone and into the arms of one of the most popular boys in school.

Yes, it sounds a touch lame upon summation but I lapped up every word and couldn’t wait to get back to it at the end of a long day. Super cute and super feel good. Can’t wait to read the second half of this duology. Fingers crossed for some more teen love triangle action!

Until next time… That’s what she said.
