Things I Loved in January

I love me some January with the smell of ‘fresh start’ in the air. The weather’s uplifting, your energy is renewed and you feel like you CAN loose those extra 5 kg’s AND find the man of your dreams with time left over to start that pottery class you’ve always wanted to do. So let’s take a minute to send some props to January because it really does treat us with respect, like a one night stand who offers to drop you home in the morning. In an ode to this stunner of a month, here’s a little glimpse of the things I’ve been loving in Jan.

Recent Reads – Winter Edition

Crank the heater, brew some peppermint tea and dive into some fresh sheets with a bloody good book. It’s winter time baby and what better way to get through this hellish season then to snuggle up and read? If you’re in your late twenties to early thirties you’ll likely be taking a trip down a very amusing memory lane.

Lit Tease – The Princess Bride by William Goldman

The first time I saw The Princess Bride I was in middle school. And in middle school, there’s nothing better than the sheer thrill of the teacher rolling out a TV on that trolley thing that all schools (by law) must house their entertainment systems in. When that happens you know it can only mean one thing, it’s movie time!! *dazzle hands*

Lit Tease – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

IMG_3029I’ve been reading up a storm lately and I am completely digging the easy vibes of a good YA novel. There’s something about switching off and relaxing with the tale of a teenager caught in some kind of semi-predictable conundrum which takes you back to a simpler time. Simpler time = me reading my first ever boyfriend’s texts over and over again whilst lying in bed listening to Sexual Healing and thinking ‘my life is like, actual heaven.’ THOSE were the days.
