I love me some January with the smell of ‘fresh start’ in the air. The weather’s uplifting, your energy is renewed and you feel like you CAN loose those extra 5 kg’s AND find the man of your dreams with time left over to start that pottery class you’ve always wanted to do. So let’s take a minute to send some props to January because it really does treat us with respect, like a one night stand who offers to drop you home in the morning. In an ode to this stunner of a month, here’s a little glimpse of the things I’ve been loving in Jan.

The Books By My Bedside.
Cookbooks, self-help and some stories that will give you all the feels – these are the books I’ll be making my way through in the near future.
Recent Reads – Winter Edition
Crank the heater, brew some peppermint tea and dive into some fresh sheets with a bloody good book. It’s winter time baby and what better way to get through this hellish season then to snuggle up and read? That’s where I’ll be until conditions improve and these are the books I’ve been hiding away with recently:
10 Things I’m Really Loving Right Now
The weather here is colder than your ex-girlfriend’s heart, so here’s a list of things I’ve been loving in the colder months. Snuggle up with an energy efficient heater and a cup of organic Matcha and enjoy!
My Summer Reading List
Like a woman who threw caution to the wind with a groomsman at her sister’s wedding… I’m late. I know, I know, I really should have put my summer reading list up a month and a half ago but better late than never they say! So here’s a lil’ look at the books I hope to get my nose into this summer.
6 Reasons Why ‘The Anti-Cool Girl’ by Rosie Waterland made me say ‘Yaaaaas girl!’
- First things first, the childhood references are more on point than a compass. Learning all the words to the slow talky part of ‘Never Ever’ by All Saints? Umm, yah! Recreating the famous Titanic fogged up sex hand on any window available? Of course! If you’re in your late twenties to early thirties you’ll likely be taking a trip down a very amusing memory lane.
Lit Tease – The Princess Bride by William Goldman
The first time I saw The Princess Bride I was in middle school. And in middle school, there’s nothing better than the sheer thrill of the teacher rolling out a TV on that trolley thing that all schools (by law) must house their entertainment systems in. When that happens you know it can only mean one thing, it’s movie time!! *dazzle hands*
Lit Tease – The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
One of my fav things about a holiday are the endless hours you can spend kicking back with a bangin’ book. During our trip to Hawaii, that’s exactly what I did and one of the books I flew through was The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty.
Poolside Paperbacks
Guess what?! I’m going to Hawaii in 2 weeks! EEEKKKKK!!! We booked this trip yonks ago and I’m finding it hard to believe that it’s almost here! Annual leave, we meet again and daaayyymmn giiiirl, you lookin’ fine.
Lit Tease – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
I’ve been reading up a storm lately and I am completely digging the easy vibes of a good YA novel. There’s something about switching off and relaxing with the tale of a teenager caught in some kind of semi-predictable conundrum which takes you back to a simpler time. Simpler time = me reading my first ever boyfriend’s texts over and over again whilst lying in bed listening to Sexual Healing and thinking ‘my life is like, actual heaven.’ THOSE were the days.
